Summary: Best anime comedy around
Comment: From the voice acting and the, sort of, satirical animation style, to the clever, politically incorrect writing, shin chan is absolutely hilarious. The comedy focuses on ludicrous juxtapositions that revolve around a blend of American and Japanese every day life. It reminds me of humor from shows like Family guy, The Simpsons, and South Park, but Shin Chan does what they do in a slightly more tasteful and ''good-natured'' way (not that i'm saying this show isn't incredibly inappropriate and offensive). You don't even have to like anime, if you just like to laugh, watch this show!

Summary: It's a silly show.
Comment: This show was done fairly well by Funimation. It's silly, even though rather crude at times. The only big drawback to the DVDs is that it is dubbed, only. So, if you paid more than $20 for this, you did get ripped off.
If this did have the Japanese audio track, I would have given this 5 stars, especially if the subtitles were done well. I thought Funimation had learned from its mistakes about not releasing Japanese audio versions of anime, but I was wrong. I'm going to have to wait until the next one drops to $19.99, too, since I will not pay full price for half of a DVD set. This isn't a kids' show, at least as far as Americans go, so there's no excuse for this being English only.

Summary: Fun and Naughty
Comment: This is a great series that pokes fun at life without being over the top. You have to pay attention to catch most of the really naughty bits. Excellent series all around.

Summary: Brilliant.
Comment: A Japanese kids cartoon dubbed in English for an adult crowd, "Shin Chan" from FUNimation features hilarious writing and wonderful voice acting. Special mention goes to Laura Bailey as Shin and Carrie Savage as Penny.
The episodes are cut up from the original into three, usually unconnected, pieces per episode. The plots of each piece appear to be loosely connected to the original, though surely some must vary wildly from the original.
For the price, the DVD is seriously lacking in extras, especially commentary tracks. In this instance this is particularly unfortunate as the cast and crew clearly have the rapport and wit to make the commentaries as good as the episodes they comment on. "Futurama" must be the Gold Standard for commentary tracks, and all DVD producers would profit from following Futurama's example.
Extras notwithstanding, Shin Chan is an outstanding program and worth enjoying.

Comment: One this is for sure, this show is not for little kids. I would personally say this show is for anyone who watches Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, and any other kind of show like that. I first watched it on Adult Swim, the late night Cartoon Network. This little guy is sooo funny. He is obsessed with his butt, poop, and his fav tv show Action Bastard. The things that come out of his mouth are so obscene but it is freakin hilarious. I totally recommend it for a good laugh.
