Comment: This item is probably not going to work for you. There is so much interference from neighbor dwellings, and inhouse appliances that this has little chance of working well.
I have tried two versions of this gismo. Both were reasonably priced, easy to install, and barely worked. I got such a weak signal that I can do no better than 16k on dial-up.
Money down the drain - should have sprung for a hard wired phone company jack....

Summary: Great for Satellite Plug-in.
Comment: This does exactly what I wanted it to do: Allow me to plug in my satellite receiver where there was no phone jack. I have about a 30-foot jump across the room and it is making the connection. When I tested for a dial-tone, though, there was a bit of static on the line so using this as an actual "phone" jack, it did not have a good enough connection for me. It may have had a clearer signal had it not had to jump so far. It is, however, accomplishing the task perfectly of allowing me to eliminate the monthly charge associsated with my satellite service if the receiver wasn't connected to a phone-jack. Data transmission (ordering movies, etc.) is fine. I'd recommend for that purpose. If, however, you need a phone in a room, it may not be the best if you have a larger room.

Comment: Just what i was looking for. I used this to connect my DIRECT TV receiver to a phone line. It worked right out of the box.

Comment: While this unit does exactly what it says... i dont think i would recommend it to anyone. i am using it for a simple phone line, and the static created by this unit is so loud and strong, that it almost makes the phone useless.

Avoid charges associated with not having a phone connection for your satellite receiver. You can order movies by pressing a button on your remote. Download postage, instead of making a call. Add a computer or telephone to a room without an existing phone outlet.
