Comment: We leave our filter run 24/7, always with the pre-filter in place.
It took over 2 years for the hepa filter to start getting a tinge of
dirt through it(the filter material, starts changing from white to a
little darker.The filter is pretty quiet on the middle setting, so
that's where ours stay. Now we own the big brother to this one for the bedroom.

Comment: I took the filter out of the shipping box. I took the cover and prefilter off the unit and my 20 month old son took out the dirty old filter and placed the new one with verbal instruction from me. So easy a baby can do it! The hardest part was finding the filter for less that $90-$100. Thank goodness for FiltersFast and Amazon!
