Customer Rating: Summary: My toddler's obsession! Comment: We were given this book several months ago, and initially my son was indifferent to it. At about 13 months, he became very interested in books. A few weeks ago, he became obsessed with this book. We keep a stack of board books in his playroom, and he will go through the whole stack to find this one and bring it to me. If I try to read a different book, he will get this one and push it at me until I read it. He will eagerly listen to it 5 or 6 times in a row. The only reason I'm giving it four, not five, stars is because I've gotten a bit sick of it!
The text includes many different kinds of trucks, though the language for most is not something a newly-verbal child can emulate. (Tractor with plow, etc.) The font is clear (essential for reading upside down so the child can see the page) and the photos are bright, clear, and engaging.
Customer Rating: Summary: Just what you'd expect Comment: Every page or two page spread has a number of photographs of trucks, in various categories - little ones, fire trucks, farm vehicles, that sort of thing.
Each truck is identified. At the end, there's a few pages where older toddlers can match wheels or people to trucks.
Just right for this age group, especially any baby or toddler who is really into trucks. I recommend this book, and, really, the whole series.
Customer Rating: Summary: OMG buy this Comment: does your child have an obsession for backhoes, fire trucks and other large equipment? this is your answer. simple text and large photos. the dk series delivers.
Customer Rating: Summary: Beloved book Comment: We actually had to purchase this book to replace the library copy, which my 18-month-old daughter loved so much she didn't put it down for weeks and somehow reduced it to pieces (and that's hard to do with a board book!).
Customer Rating: Summary: NO STICKERS Comment: Well, my son loves the book and doesn't seem to miss the stickers, but I am bummed that the book came without the stickers.
